Failures are our assets
There are a few occasions during our existence in this world, when most of us experience great flashes of insight, great moments of truth that forever change the course of our lives. This might sound strange but the fact is most of those experiences result from spectacular failures and not from outstanding successes. It is from our failures (which dismayed us), that we learn the most lasting lessons, but its only when we extract the useful lessons from them and then put the entire episode behind us.
Let us all learn from our failures, forget about them, and move on to better things.
Our FAILURE (for all we know) may prove to be an asset, provided we know why we failed.
Good morning - Have a lovely day.
Cheers,

Limitation of the power of one's mind
"You can’t conceive how high ‘up’ is, except for the limitations of your own mind." - saying of Pat Ryan, the chairman and CEO of Aon Corporation, the giant multinational insurance company
Well I know that the English is not correct, but it emphatically makes the point that the only limits that can be placed on the power of your mind will be those you impose on it yourself. When you brainstorm, don’t allow limits to be placed on any idea. Sometimes the ideas that seem the craziest at the time will later prove to be the most inspired.
If you’re working with your Master Mind group, please encourage the free flow of ideas from every individual present. Don’t be critical or analytical during the brainstorming process; at this point, every idea is a good one. Cluster the ideas into groups of related thoughts so that the best of them can later be shaped for practical application.
Do you guys agree on the same?
Cheers,
Happy new day - Smile

Garbage in, Garbage out
A very interesting quote: "THE MIND NEVER BECOMES TIRED, BUT SOMETIMES IT BECOMES BORED WITH THE "FOOD" IT GETS".
There's an acronym that is being used in the computer field, which we are all very familiar with "GIGO" i.e. Garbage in, Garbage out. This is to illustrate the fact that the computer can process only the information it is given. The same is true with our mind. If we feed it healthful, nourishing "food," it will grow strong and agile, but if we restrict it to a regular diet of mental "junk food," our mind will become unhealthy, negative, and unproductive. It will return to us what we put into it.
Let us all feed our mind a balanced, nourishing diet. Study information from a variety of fields to help us keep up with the latest trends. We may find that the best ideas for our business come from a totally unrelated area.
So let's be positive and always work towards getting the "Best" in us.
Smile - Life is beautiful

Treat others, the way you want to be treated
THE GREATEST OF ALL SUCCESS RULES IS THIS: Do unto others as you would, if you were the others.
These lines have been discussed in various ways but I seriously don't know, how many of us do even give a thought to these lines when we REACT to various situation (as we allow situation to take CONTROL over us rather vice versa.
The Golden Rule is more than a principle of ethical behavior; it is a dynamic force that can work wonders in all out lives, if we look into it seriously. When we make it a practice to treat others as though we were the others, we spread goodwill among people who, in turn, may be moved to do the same. By their actions, they influence still more people, who generate goodwill among even more people. This force for goodwill increases exponentially and will return to us from totally new sources.
The benefit we receive from a good deed performed today by a total stranger may have been a chain reaction from long ago when we observed this Golden Rule in our own dealings with another.
Hope the above is not too exaggerated.
Cheers,
Have a nice day

Take Possession of your MIND
WE need to take possesssion of our own mind and WE may soon make LIFE pay off on our terms.
.
Our mind is unquestionably our most valuable possession. We may lose every material thing we own, but knowledge can never be taken from us. With it, we can earn a new fortune, build a new home, and buy anything we truly desire. No one else can control our thoughts; even the cruelest tyrant cannot force us to think about something we refuse to accept. When we make a deliberate decision to take control of our mind and feed it positive, constructive thoughts, we are on our way to taking control of our life.
The thoughts we allow to dominate our mind will determine what we will get from life.
Cheers.
Have a fabulous day

Struggle makes POWER
Below is a short story of an old man, who was a wagon builder in North Carolina.
Whenever the old man cleared the land for cultivation, he always left a few oak trees in the middle of the field. Now these trees were at the mercy of the elements, unsheltered by other trees in the forest. It was from those trees that this old man used to make the wagon’s wheels. Because these trees were forced to struggle against the fury of nature, they grew strong enough to bear the heaviest load.
What is the learning here?
Difficult challenges should always be welcomed, for the greatest opportunities will only come from challenges, that force you to expand your mind as you search for creative solutions.
During life’s bleakest hours, take solace in the face that you are strengthening yourself through struggle so that in the future you will be prepared to take on even greater challenges.
Like the old oak tree, we all can grow strong only when we are forced to struggle.
Any different takes on the same.
Cheers,

Keep GOING on
Its very important that when the GOING is the hardest, we have to just keep going on and give the best that we can - We'll get there sooner than someone who find the GOING easy
If you think achieving great heights of success will be easy, you either don’t understand at all how the process works or you have your sights set too low. Reaching the top of any field is difficult, time-consuming, and often tedious. The reason it isn’t crowded at the top is that most people won’t do the things that are necessary to achieve success. They are all too willing to give up when the going gets tough.
If you need inspiration to persevere, read the biographies people, who have achieved greatness in their lives. You will find that they prevailed because they refused to quit. They continued to toil alone long after the masses had given up and gone home.
Have a great day.
Cheers,
B
Failures makes us more stronger
May we have
* Enough happiness to make us sweet,
* Enough trials to make us strong
* Enough sorrow to keep us human
* Enough hope to make us happy.
The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything; They just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; You can’t go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
Don’t count the years - count the memories….Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away!
I read these beautiful lines and decided to start my writeup again. Its been over 2 months that I haven't seriously sat down and evaluated actions of mine - Probably lost the track somewhere - Something beautiful happened yesterday and I realised again that there is this ME within ME, who has been a believer that there is a reason behind everything that happens.
We normally get disillusioned by failure but that's where we go wrong - Failures teaches us to correct ourselves and walk the right path - We are supposed to learn from them. Infact, I would say that there is no such thing as failure, unless it is accepted as such. Every defeat is temporary unless you give up and allow it to become permanent.
As mentioned earlier, these temporary defeat should makes us stronger and more capable. Each time we try and fail, we learn something that helps prepare us for eventual success. When you view adversity as nothing more than a learning experience, your successes in life will far outnumber your failures.
Cheers,
B

Reality of Recession and functioning of market economy
Dear friends,
Story Begins…
Once there was a little island country. The total money in circulation was 2 dollar as there were only two pieces of 1 dollar coins circulating around.
1) There were 3 citizens living on this island country. Mr.A owned the land. Mr.B and Mr.C each owned 1 dollar.
2) Mr.B decided to purchase the land from Mr.A for 1 dollar. So, Mr.A and Mr.C now each own 1 dollar while Mr.B owned a piece of land that is worth 1 dollar.
The net asset of the country = 3 dollar.
3) Mr.C thought that since here is only one piece of land in the country and land is non produce able asset, its value must definitely go up. So, he borrowed 1 dollar from Mr.A and together with his own 1 dollar, he bought the land from Mr.B for 2 dollar. Mr.A has a loan to Mr.C of 1 dollar, so his net asset is 1 dollar. Mr.B sold his land to Mr.C of 1 dollar, so his net asset is 2 dollar. Mr.C owned the piece of land worth 2 dollar but with his 1 dollar debt to Mr.A, his net asset is 1 dollar.
The net asset of the country = 4 dollar.
4) Mr.A saw that the land he once owned has risen in value. He regretted selling it. Luckily, he has a 1 dollar loan to Mr.C. He then borrowed 2 dollar from Mr.B and acquired the land back from Mr.C for 3 dollar. The payment is by 2 dollar cash (which he borrowed) and cancellation of the 1 dollar loan to Mr.C. as a result, Mr.A now owned a piece of land that is worth 3 dollar. But since he owned Mr.B 2 dollar, his net asset is 1 dollar. Mr.B loaned 2 dollar to Mr.A. So his net asset is 2 dollar. Mr.C now has the 2 coins. His net asset is also 2 dollar.
The net asset of the country = 5 dollar. A bubble is building up.
5) Mr.B saw that the value of land kept rising. He also wanted to own the land. So he bought the land from Mr.A for 4 dollar. The payment is by borrowing 2 dollar from Mr.C and cancellation of his 2 dollar loan to Mr.A. As a result, Mr.A has got his debt cleared and he got the 2 coins. His net asset is 2 dollar.Mr.B owned a piece of land that is worth 4 dollar but since he has a debt of 2 dollar with Mr.C, his net asset is 2 dollar. Mr.C loaned 2 dollar to Mr.B, so his net asset is 2 dollar.
The net asset of the country = 6 dollar. Even though, the country has only one piece of land and 2 Dollar in circulation.
6) Everybody has made money and everybody felt happy and prosperous.
7) One day an evil wind blowed. An evil thought came to Mr.C's mind. "Hey, what if the land price stop going up, how could Mr.B repay my loan. There is only 2 dollar in circulation, I think after all the land that Mr.B owns is worth at most 1 dollar only." Mr.A also thought the same.
8) Nobody wanted to buy land anymore. In the end, Mr,A owns the 2 dollar coins, his net asset is 2 dollar. Mr.B owed Mr.C 2 dollar and the land he owned which he thought worth 4 dollar is now 1 dollar. His net asset become – 1 dollar. Mr.C has a loan of 2 dollar to Mr.B. But it is a bad debt. Although his net asset is still 2 dollar, his Heart is palpitating.
The net asset of the country = 3 dollar again.
Who has stolen the 3 dollar from the country? Of course, before the bubble burst Mr.B thought his land worth 4 dollar. Actually, right before the collapse, the net asset of the country was 6 dollar in paper. His net asset is still 2 dollar, his heart is palpitating.
The net asset of the country = 3 dollar again.
9) Mr.B had no choice but to declare bankruptcy. Mr.C as to relinquish his 2 dollar bad debt to Mr.B but in return he acquired the land which is worth 1 dollar now. Mr.A owns the 2 coins, his net asset is 2 dollar. Mr.B is bankrupt, his net asset is 0 dollar. (Mr.B lost everything). Mr.C got no choice but end up with a land worth only 1 dollar (Mr.C lost one dollar).
The net asset of the country = 3 dollar.
There is a however a redistribution of wealth. Mr.A is the winner, Mr.B is the loser, Mr.C is lucky that he is spared.

Control your Emotions
Remember that no one can hurt your feelings without your cooperation and willingness
No one can cause you to have any kind of emotional reaction without your first giving them permission to do so. You alone are responsible for your feelings and emotions. When you know what you plan to do with your life, you will not allow annoying situations to deter you from your goals for long. If you set ambitious goals for yourself and work enthusiastically toward them, you will quickly realize that you don't have time to allow petty annoyances to upset you and keep you from your objectives.
Thought of the Day
There are many who dream about experiencing happiness without the patience. But that is a dream. And a dream is just that--a dream, a fairy tale. It is to wish for a childish, easy life. This illusion breaks up many marriages. The pursuit of such happiness can only make one miserable.
It is important to make the effort to calmly construct something together. From there, real love develops. Real marriage is when you have been married for twenty-five years and feel an even deeper love than you did when you first met. Love deepens. Love that does not is merely on the level of simple likes and dislikes

Your Competition should be only one person - YOU
Whether you are the head of the department or the newest worker on the staff, you can help your company immeasurably by refusing to become embroiled in internal strife. Compete with yourself to do the best job you can do instead of competing with others.
Its a shame that a lot of us are more interested at what others are doing and how to bring them down instead on focusing on how to work on ourselves and move self and company forward.
I strongly feel that cooperation MUST start at the head of the department, if it is expected at the other end. The same stands true for efficiency as well.
Anyone who thinks otherwise?

Don't call yourself a LEADER, if don't know to follow direction yourselfDon't call yourself a LEADER, if don't know to follow direction yourself
I don't think that any one is capable of giving direction, unless he or she knows how to take direction and carry them. Today the key issue that we face in many organizations are, we seldom find leaders who follow directions that are laid down but expect people down the line to do so - WHY?
An essential quality of leadership is developing the ability to persuade others to align their goals with yours and those of the organization. Until you, yourself, are able to join forces with others in the pursuit of a common objective, you will never persuade them to join your cause.
Effective leaders recognize the value of working together, and they learn how to follow directions before being entrusted with the responsibility for the performance of others. Good leaders show by example how they expect others to behave. Even though the troops may be trained to follow orders unquestioningly, the officer always leads them into battle.
You cannot push others to follow your example; you must pull them along with you. When you show by your every word and deed that you are a person of character, one who works for the greater good of the entire organization, your people will follow.
We all need to REFLECT and assess the same.

Beating the slowdown blues
Ever thought about spending a penny to save a Rupee.
Sounds a great proposition, especially when recession is on upward swing & markets are hitting rock bottom. So as our oldies said, money saved is money earned holds particularly true in today’s scenario, when cost cutting is the new mantra.
So, to untangle one from the clutches of recession, a new service is launched, moneysaver, brainchild of 2 young entrepreneurs, Kunal Bahl & Rohit Bansal, who aspired to make every brand affordable for everyone by offering hundreds of discount coupons & buy one get one free coupons on branded apparels, fine dining, casual dining, movies, entertainment etc.
Moneysaver is a service that comes in handy to consumers as its affordable (Just Rs 100 monthly), accessible (Just a sms away), Available (More than 200 outlets where one can buy moneysaver recharge card.) & every month, subscribers are kept abreast with the latest offers through monthly catalogue.
The entire model is based on the simple fact that everyone loves to strike a deal, to make a bargain and avail a discount. The research which their focus group discussions revealed was that Indian customers are not price sensitive, they are value sensitive. The perceive value not on the basis of whether they are getting the product cheap but if they are getting it cheaper. Money Saver stretches the concept to make it a win-win for all by feeding on ’dependencies’. Aiming to reach a target group of 15 million potential booklet buyers comprising young professionals, college students and housewives they know that this is exactly the same group that the expanding pool of retailers is trying to reach across the country. There website called www.moneysaver.in is full of such great offers.
Not only Moneysaver, but other companies are also trying to utilize SMS, Bluetooth, mobile websites, to cost effectively reach customers. Bluetooth companies such as Telebrahma and CellMagix have been promoting offers and content to consumers inside malls, by sending information directly to Bluetooth activated phones.

Obstacles are stepping stone to success
Yesterday I was talking to one of my colleagues on why its important to look at all obstacles as challenges or stepping stones and then I hit upon this article.
Wally Amos, the man whom many consider to be the father of the gourmet cookie industry, has turned lemons into lemonade so often in his life, that in his official portrait he holds a pitcher in one hand and a glass of lemonade in the other.
A perennial optimist, Amos refuses to acknowledge that obstacles are anything other than stepping-stones to success. In a career that has spanned several decades, he has made it to the pinnacle of success several times, only to lose everything and be forced to start over. But he's never lost faith. "You have to have the trust and faith to let go and not agonize," he says.
So we know what to do now - If Life hands you a lemon, don't complain, but instead make lemonade to sell to those who are thirsty from complaining.
Let's not waste our time worrying. Worry is not preparation. Analyze the situation and focus on solutions. There is always an answer and its only there with us.

Drifting without aim will lead you nowhere
Without a plan for your life, it is easier to follow the course of least resistance, to go with the flow, to drift with the current with no particular destination in mind. Having a definite plan for your life greatly simplifies the process of making hundreds of daily decisions that affect your ultimate success.
When you know where you want to go, you can quickly decide if your actions are moving you toward your goal or away from it. Without definite, precise goals and a plan for their achievement, each decision must be considered in a vacuum. Definiteness of purpose provides context and allows you to relate specific actions to your overall plan.

There's always a NEW beginning
THERE ALWAYS REMAINS AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A NEW START.
Though it may not seem so when you first encounter a serious blow, you can never lose two of the most important assets you have. These are the power of your mind and your freedom to use it.
Once you have turned them to understanding what laid you low, you can begin forming new plans. You may not have the money you once had; you may lack the allies you had cultivated. But you still have the benefit of
a universe that eventually rewards honest effort, as well as gaining the experience of mistakes you will never make again.
Remember, no matter where you are now, whatever you can conceive and believe, you can achieve. Protect the most important thing you have - YOU

Self pity - a curse
SELF-PITY IS AN OPIATE.
The most insidious problem with drugs is that the human body develops a tolerance for them and requires larger and larger doses to achieve the same effect. The same is true with self-pity. The more you allow yourself to indulge in it, the more you will require. Soon, self-pity will become a habit, one so debilitating that you will rob yourself of all the potential you possess.
Happily, there is a cure. If you truly analyze the situation, most often you will find that the problems that have driven you to pity yourself are mostly of your own creation. It follows, then, that the best person to remedy the problem is the person who created it: you yourself.

Failure - A reason to Change
FAILURE IS A BLESSING WHEN IT PUSHES US OUT OF A CUSHIONED SEAT OF SELF-SATISFACTION AND FORCES US TO DO SOMETHING USEFUL.
If you carefully study your own life and those of achievers whom you admire, it is an absolute certainty you will discover that your greatest opportunities often occurred during times of adversity. It is only when faced with the possibility of failure that we are willing to deal with radical change and take the risks that lead to great success.
When you experience temporary failure and you know that it is temporary, you can capitalize on the opportunities adversity always brings. It all depends on the individual and his take on accepting failure in a positive manner.
If everything we attempted in life were achieved with a minimum of effort and came out exactly as planned, how little we would learn-and how boring life would be! And how arrogant we would become if we succeeded at everything we attempted.
Failure allows us to develop the essential quality of humility. It is not easy (when you are the person experiencing failure) to accept it philosophically, serene in the knowledge that this is one of life's great learning experiences. But it is.
Nature's ways are not always easily understood, but they are repetitive and therefore predictable. You can be absolutely certain that when you feel you are being most unfairly tested, you are being prepared for great achievement.
regards,
B
